For the cleaner Baltic Sea
Together with our main sponsor A. Le Coq we aim to organise the event with the smallest possible ecological footprint. We want to set an example in improving maritime culture and promoting environmentally friendly seafaring. Therefore, actions will be taken to educate entries to sort waste, collect packaging and recycle. Small trash cans for cigarette butts, gum and any such smaller waste, and sorting bags for onboard use are just examples of the effort.
All last year’s winners are back to race for the title
The winner of the biggest boats Matilda 4 has a new team and helmsman but Berta, winner of the Cruiser division of the same group, will race under the guidance of Hando Sutter from Kalev Yacht Club. Sugar and Marjaliisa Umb from Pärnu Yacht Club will attempt to defend their title in ORC II. Also in ORC III and IV we will see the best of the best racing for the title - Anne-Mari Luik on Piloilleri (Rein Ottosoni Purjespordikool) and Joel Kõiv on Julechka (Toila Yacht Club).
Last year’s Folkboot champion - W-Lind from Kalev Yacht Club with Vaiko Vooremaa at the helm – will also be racing this year.
In 2021 Tallinn will also host Alexela ORC World Championships between 6-14 August. As most of the 37 Estonian yachts participating in it will also race the Moonsund Regatta, the latter will serve as an important training opportunity for finetuning teamwork and trimming sails. This regatta will be a good test just one month ahead of the important contest.
If last year we were forced to abandon any festive onshore activities, then now we have a full evening program in harbours hosting the regatta http://muhuvain.ee/regatt2021/uritused
