Winners of the A. Le Coq 59th Moonsund Regatta announced | 20 Jul 16, piret.salmistu

During one week 111 yachts from five countries and with almost seven hundred sailors on board raced 250 miles and visited the harbors of Pärnu, Kihnu, Haapsalu, Kärdla and Kalev Yacht Club. The last races and the award ceremony took place on July 16 in Tallinn.

The first start of the short races of the Bosch Tallinn leg of the regatta was given at 10:30 in 8-9 m/s winds. The waves in Tallinn harbor gave their best to make the races interesting and all the action was brought to the shore by Postimees online. The last day of the regatta was decisive in the division of podium places for many groups. 
 
All three races in ORC I were won by Lady Bird, Forte was second and Tuule third. 
The winner of the Moonsund Regatta this year in ORC I is Forte from Kalev YC  with Jaak Jõgi's team on board with 1-(2)-1-1-1-2. Ten points secured Pärny YC yacht Lady Bird, captain Johannes Puussepp, the second place on the podiumand Tuule with Jaan Mugra's team joined them on the third position with 13 points.

  2. LADY BIRD, Pärnu Yacht Club: Johannes Puusepp, Jaanus Tagu, Margus Kastehein, Aivar Kullamaa, Andres Ebruk, Hannes Verlis, Gudrun Kaukver, Piret Tank, Ago Pärtel.  
  3. TUULE, Pärnu Yacht Club: Jaan Mugra, Mati Sepp, Ain Sumberg, Ago Vilumaa, Risto  Verevmägi, Marek Lentsius, Oliver Matkur, Reinhold Mutli, Hardi Laurits, Tervo Kuusmaa, Keiti Väliste. 

In ORC II the best in short races were Adele and Harles Liiv's team. Despite their bump into Cherie, Margus Zuravljov managed to bring his Amserv Toyota Sailing Team in second and the third was Merepärl.
The overall winner of the A. Le Coq 59th Moonsund Regatta is Alari Akermann's yacht Merepärl with 1-1-1-2-(6)-3 from Pärnu YC. 13 points were enough for Adele and Harles Liiv from Baltsail to secure the second place and Amserv Toyota Sailing Team  was one point behind only and snapped the third place.

  2. ADELE, Baltsail Yacht Club: Harles Liiv, Aleksander Zolotov, Igor Tsatski, Igor Orlov, Eduard Gorbunov, Anton Tsislov, Kai Lõppe.  
  3. AMSERV TOYOTA SAILING TEAM, Kalev Yacht Club -  Margus Zuravljov, Eero Treumann, Märtin Länts, Mati Vihul, Olari Vokk, Lauri Luks, Margus Nõmmik, Kristiina Truuverk, Külliki Luks. 

The best in CDL<8 class in short races was Severnoe Sijanie, captain Gennady Rybkin, from St. Peterburg. They were followed by Kvartet, captain Vasily Alexeev, also from Russia, and Kalev YC yacht Gemma with Margus Tammoja.
The overall winner and Estonian champion in CDL<8 is Kadri, captain Tanel Õun, from Saaremaa Merispordi Selts with an impressive series of 1-1-1-1-2-(9). Five points less were enough for Blanca and Jaan Tiidemann from Kalev to secure the second place on the podium and Estonian Championship silver. Lagle IIand Ülari Velviste from Saaremaa Merispordi Selts raced themselves to bronze.

  3. LAGLE II, Saaremaa Mersipordi Selts: Ülari Velviste, Rauno Pielberg, Erich-Otto Eller, Sander Sink, Markus Iin, Villem Susi.
The winner of the Tallinn circle in ESTLYS1 was Ariel from St. Peterburg captained by Sergey Ganichev. Tessa and Berta were second and third respectively. 

All podium places in ESTLYS1 went to Kalev Yacht Club. The overall winner is Ain-Eke Jalasto on Fanatic with 6-2-1.5-1-1-(21). Four points behind them is Alar Ivanson on Tessa and Hando Sutter on Berta sailed his team to the third position staying behind Tessa by one point only.

The best in the last race in ESTLYS2 was Mikk Metstak on Brigitta. Elli was second and Liliann from Saaremaa Merispordi Selts with captain Margus Beljakov third. 
The overall winner of the regatta is Elli ((7)-1-2-1-3-2) and Margus Hiet's team, second on the podium is Windwalker with Priit Jürioja's team and Brigittatook the third place.

The best on Tallinn circle in ESTLYS3 were Aurora and Pille Kaas, as expected. Iir from Kalev YC and captain Peeter Siniväli were second and Mercurius third.
The overall winner of the regatta in ESTLYS3 is Aurora with Pille Kaas and her team with an impressive result of 1-(8)-1-1-1-1. The second place on the podium was taken by Margus Tasa and Mercurius and Diweiss with captain Erki Kiluskwere third.

The very tight race in FOLKBOOT brought the last leg win to Peeter Välkmann on Tee Chee. Tiit Riisalo and Lind were second and Bacchus with captain Olev Oolup from Haapsalu YC third. 
Podium places in Folkboot class also meant championship titles, all of which were taken by Kalev Yacht Club yachts. Tiit Riisalo and his team on Lind  are the new Estonian Champions. Tee Chee and captain Peeter Välkmann won the silver medal and Jaanus Nõgisto on Muinasjutukuningas sailed his team to bronze.

It has already become a tradition to give out some more social prizes by Rahva Raamat, the biggest book store chain in Estonia. This year the title of the youngest sailor goes to 10-year-old Kristjan Kööp from Sylvia, Kalev YC. The most seasoned sailor is Toomas Kiiver, born in 1942, who raced on yacht Venus from Kalev YC. The youngest captain of the regatta was Keith Luur, born in 2000, who raced on Pärnu YC yacht Masu. The youngest team of the regatta was on Maris from Saaremaa Merispordi Selts. A special award was also given to the first yacht to register to the regatta and this was taken by Marielle from Kalev YC whose captain Vallo Kalvik registered his team on December 23, 2015. All female captains were also cheered and awarded: Pille Kaas from Haapsalu YC yacht Aurora; Annika Malvat from Noblessner club yacht Kaija and Anne-Mari Luik of Equipe du Piloiller from ROPK.  Merepärl's own shipdog Topu was also celebrated. 
 
All 21 podium finishers of the A. Le Coq 59th Moonsund Regatta received a bespoke glass trophy by artist Agnes Torm.
